07-24 Food Pantry

We helped out with the food pantry set up again.  Got Mic to come along this time. Realized that Gabe and I don't really work well together.

07-20 Texting

Since Gabe had a friend over Mic and her friend Nancy had a sleepover at Nancy's house.  I had a little trouble falling asleep so I did some Bible reading and a little texting.

07-13 Movie Night

I had Mic on one side of me and Gabe on the other.  Can you tell what movie we chose to watch on Friday the 13th?  I'll put the answer below.

Creepshow

07-06 Anniversary

16 years of marriage today.  We had 8 years of the easy life and it's been 8 years of not knowing where we are going. Still together, still making it. Always walking with God.

07-04 The 4th of July

Waiting for the fireworks show to start.  It was a great show.  Always love going to Georgetown on the 4th. Except for the rude lady that I yelled at as we were walking to our car.  She was very impatient and was yelling at drivers with horrible language.  I yelled for her to stop cursing.  She told me to stop listening but then she did shut up, so. I win! =)

06-28 Poor Mic

Brian always comes in to see Mic with an Isabella from Phineas & Ferb greeting.   "Whatcha doin?"  Drives her crazy. Especially if Gabe helps out.  She just calls for mom to help.  I do nothing.

06-05 Venus Transit

We wanted to view the transit at home but at the last minute we decided to head east away from all the clouds.  We got to Old Settlers Park in Round Rock Texas just in time and, to very few clouds so the sun wasn't covered up.

Here Brian is taking pictures, Mic is viewing through the binoculars, and Gabe is using the projector.  We bought special covers for the camera and binoculars so we could view the sun.  We had hoped to have one for the telescope but those covers were sold out.

Brian made a sun projector using the telescope and some cardboard and paper.  It worked great.  You can even see some of the sun spots.

Here is a better photo of the projected image.

And these are the photos Brian took with the camera.  If he had had more time to practice (it was cloudy most days before this event happened) and a better camera the photos would have been of better quality.  However I think Brian did a great job up until the sun went under some storm clouds.

05-28

I spent some time re uploading photos to this blog.  I got May done and am into April.  Only one blog will be without a photo so far. No more "workin' on the oven" photos. =(

Today we relaxed and played a few games of Tetris Link.

Mic is such a drama queen. ;-)

And we remembered our military.  Happy Memorial day!!

05-19 Sonic

We all had a treat from Sonic after supper.  Mic chose a strawberry milkshake.  Brian, Gabe, and I had the  Hey Batter Batter Blast.  And just so you know.  This version of cookie dough ice cream was millions times better than the one at Dairy Queen.  And it wasn't just because there was brownie batter as well as the cookie dough.  Just so you know. ;-)

Looks like they had too much ice cream.

04-29 S'mores!

When Gabe got home from his church youth devo, Michaela built a fire and we all made s'mores.  Lovely evening.

Saturday, April 28

04-28 Boys

Brian and Gabe played a little Mario Kart and then did some target practice.  Nice relaxed Saturday afternoon.

04-27 BMcIlroy Spring 2012 Collection

Here is the BKM-Spring 2012 collection.

Brian made these clothes this year with a Hawaiian theme for Easter.
Shirts for the boys, dresses and skirts for the girls.

04-24 Surprise!

My parents surprised me with a visit for my 40th birthday.  I guess turning 40 is a pretty big deal.  ;-)

04-08 Easter

Happy Hawaiian  Easter from Texas!!
Kinda had to crop two photos together.  We'll get better pictures when we have a camera.

03-17 Fire

We had a lazy Saturday.  I pulled weeds from flower pots and planted some seeds.  Even decided to put the hummingbird feeder out just in case.  And guess what?  One buzzed by before I could get the feeder hung.

We grilled hot dogs for supper and then started a fire (without matches) to roast marshmallows for s'mores.  Gabe was more interested in playing with the fire.

After everyone went in I sat by the fire as it died and read more of The Hunger Games.  Finding it hard to put that book down.  A much better story than Twilight. ;-)

03-16 Chalk Ridge Falls Park

Today we went to Chalk Ridge Falls Park located just outside of Belton.  We had planned to do a 5 mile hike but the brush that we had to get through and the lack of markers on the trail made us cut the hike 1 mile short of 5.

There were several cool spots to stop and explore.  Here is a huge tree over the river.  Brian walked over it and then I stood on it to

take this photo of the falls.  I imagine this is a better water fall after a good rain.

Here is the very cool cable suspension bridge.  Mic was quite nervous about it.

A small cave up a hill away from the trail.

We saw many huge trees and weird tree trunks.  This is a tree that has several small trees growing from one of the branches near the top of the trunk.

Here is the view down the Lampasas River from a spot that we

took a final break.  At this point Gabe was ready to turn back and we were all tired of keeping our eyes open for and dodging the poison ivy.  It was a warm, humid day but we were so glad that the sun stayed behind clouds most of the hike.
